Imaging Staff & Credentials

At least one radiologist is on-site during the day at all University Radiology facilities. Five radiologists practice on-site at our East Brunswick facility. A total of 250 people staff our imaging centers of which 140 are full-time or part-time technologists. Each office is managed by an Administrative Technologist who works closely with the physicians and their staff to insure a smooth running office operation.

Radiologic Technologists are of critical importance to the success of the radiology team. All of our technologists are required to pass the NJ State Registry. In addition, each technologist attends on-going certification programs in their specialty area and participates in in-house clinical and administrative seminars.

Imaging Center Operations

Corporate policies and procedures are standardized across all imaging offices. Patients and referrers call one telephone number to schedule an appointment at any of the 8 offices. This centralized service assures patients of getting the next appointment slot available regardless of the office location, if they so desire. All facilities at University Radiology operate under the required local, state and federal licenses and regulations including those set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the operation of our Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT equipment.

Quality Assurance, Licenses & Accreditation

University Radiology has a Quality Assurance Physicist on staff to monitor radiation output levels and radioisotope administration. Our on-going QA Program insures that all equipment is functioning properly, radiation levels are minimized and radioactive agents are dispensed and handled appropriately.

Our mammography suites have been inspected and our operating procedures reviewed by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the toughest mammography accrediting body in the country. The mammography facilities have also been inspected and approved by the State of NJ and Medicare. All of our facilities are designated Medicare Certified Mammography Screening Facilities.

In order to provide the best screening mammography service possible, all of our screening mammograms are read independently by two radiologists. A sophisticated CAD system review provides a “triple-check”. If the findings by the two physicians conflict, a third radiologist is consulted until consensus is reached and a determination made.

The quality of the service we provide to patients and referring physicians is measured on an on-going basis. Each patient receives a satisfaction survey to complete following their exam. Responses are mailed back to us postage-free. Responses from all surveys are reviewed with University Radiology members and staff. Pertinent comments and suggestions are incorporated into the practice.

University Radiology has developed working relationships with numerous hospitals, referring physicians, managed care organizations, and clients. These relationships are very important to us. We take great care to insure that we are meeting the unique needs of each organization. Established physician-to-physician and staff-to-staff contact/liaison programs help us keep the lines of communication open.
